Description:
Essential Skills & Experience:
• Serve as an administrator with other team members for all network and servers in the enterprise. Including voice, wireless, wired, and VPN/SDWAN networks.
• Manages, deploys, configures and maintains servers in virtualized, traditional and Azure environments.
• Knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of network and server infrastructure for consistent availability.
• Safeguard the network and server systems by creating and applying policies, along with monitoring access with security in mind.
• Administer firewall settings in line with IT security strategy.
• Be able to upgrade and patch applications, server operating systems, and firmware/drivers as needed to eliminate security vulnerabilities, improve performance, and/or add desired feature sets.
• Adequately test software deployments to ensure there are no conflicts with the existing environment.
• Communicate with business and technical team members to ensure coordination and solid end user experience and support.
• Participate in business continuity testing and disaster recovery planning.
• Manage IT support ticket queues for network and server related incidents.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects and tasks to a schedule.
• Ability to handle IT support calls from throughout the company and participate in an on-call rotation for evening and weekend support.
• Delivering customer satisfaction and overall excellence by identifying opportunities (or issues) and assisting with speedy resolution.
• Contribute to the wider IT goals, juggling multiple and conflicting priorities in a timely and sensitive way.
• Assist in troubleshooting efforts to resolve production issues and perform root cause analysis with emphasis on corrective action planning activities requiring service design changes (technology or process).
• Manage technology service partners supporting the environment in the areas of security and network management.
• Promote continuous process improvement activities resulting in effectiveness, efficiencies, cost optimizations and service automation.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on networking and server experience required.
• 2 years’ hands on experience using HashiCorp Configuration Language (HCL) in Mircosoft Azure environment to make adjustments to existing deployments and create new environments for networking, firewalls, AD and certificate management.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki switches and SDWAN technology
• Experience with Hyper-V virtualization technologies in Azure and traditional environments
• Experience with: Microsoft Office 365, Windows Sever 2012 to 2022, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and IIS.
• Knowledge of application monitoring and analytics tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Must be extremely organized and able to track many issues simultaneously.
• Plus / Preferred – prior experience using Frontline Vulnerability Management, Veeam Backup Solution for Office 365, and Chronicle SIEM knowledge.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related hands-on/field experience.
• Network+ and Server+ CompTIA certifications
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

- Responsible for the daily administration of network and server environments. Installs, configures, and maintains system software.
- Monitors network / server performance, troubleshoots issues, and deploys solutions.
- Documents network / server issues and events using standard formats.
- Plans and implements upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment installation for networking and servers.
- Maintains and follows disaster recovery, security, backup, and restore plans.
- May evaluate new tools or equipment and perform analysis/feasibility studies to guide decisions on optimizing network / server performance.
- Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
- Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Typically requires 4-7 years of related experience.
