Our client is seeking a Director of IT to lead strategy, delivery, and performance across Corporate and restaurant locations. This role owns the full lifecycle of POS, back-of-house systems, menu management, QA, and restaurant enhancement technologies, ensuring reliable operations, high deployment quality, and continuous improvement to speed of service, order accuracy, and guest experience. This leader partners closely with Operations, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and restaurant teams and manages high-impact vendor relationships to deliver against the restaurant technology roadmap.

Our client is seeking a Director of IT to lead strategy, delivery, and performance across Corporate and restaurant locations. This role owns the full lifecycle of POS, back-of-house systems, menu management, QA, and restaurant enhancement technologies, ensuring reliable operations, high deployment quality, and continuous improvement to speed of service, order accuracy, and guest experience. This leader partners closely with Operations, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and restaurant teams and manages high-impact vendor relationships to deliver against the restaurant technology roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and evaluate hardware and software systems including all impacts to restaurant operations teams and corporate support and make recommendations to implement new systems.
- Lead strategy, deployments, upgrades, and ongoing support of enterprise POS and BOH systems.
- Own restaurant technology product management, including lifecycles, feature roadmaps, and major integrations.
- Oversee menu management accuracy across POS, online ordering, digital signal processing, and loyalty platforms.
- Establish rigorous quality assurance standards for store technology, menus, and integrations.
- Serve as senior owner of key technology vendor relationships, service agreements, and contracts.
- Define budgets, prioritize initiatives, and align investments with business strategy for new restaurant openings and systems upgrades.
- Provide high-level technology support to operations, corporate staff and executive leadership.
- Provide high-level technical support for multi-location and restaurant environments.
- Perform database administration including database migrations, indexing repairs, and query troubleshooting.
- Deploy POS hardware including terminals, printers, scanners, cash drawers, and EMV payment devices.
- Support both cloud-hosted and on-premise solutions.
- Support POS infrastructure through remote troubleshooting and system configuration.
- Guide and support new restaurant openings and systems rollouts, delivering projects on time and on budget, including hands-on support during service hours as needed.
- Support maintenance of reservations and table management systems including integrations.
- Provide hands-on training and support to restaurant and corporate staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years hands-on restaurant industry experience
- Experience supporting and directing IT at a multi-unit restaurant company.
- Knowledge and significant experience overseeing support of restaurant POS and online ordering.
- Deep knowledge and current experience researching and evaluating relevant hardware and software systems including POS, reservations and table management systems, online ordering and delivery systems, integrations, hardware and software.
- Experience managing menus and databases in enterprise-level restaurant company.
- Experience planning for and implementing IT upgrades and systems rollouts in a relevant field including budgeting and hands-on support.
- Ability to work a flexible workweek including weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to travel.
