Description:
The Consulting Analyst for Commercial Applications plays a pivotal role in aligning IT capabilities with business objectives, focusing on commercial applications that support business operations. This individual will leverage analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of business processes to identify opportunities, define requirements, and ensure the successful integration and adoption of IT solutions. The role involves close collaboration with business owners, IT teams, and vendors to manage, enhance, and support commercial applications, ensuring they meet business needs and comply with regulatory standards such as HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO27001.

Your day to day:

 
  • Lead the planning, scoping, gathering, understanding, and analysis of business requirements for commercial applications, translating these into functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Drive the requirements lifecycle, including planning, elaboration, analysis, validation, and communication, applying creativity and analytical skills to complex business models.
  • Engage with business and technology partners to clarify application functions, processes, and data flow, ensuring alignment between business needs and technology capabilities.
  • Manage vendor relationships, service level agreements (SLAs), and performance metrics to ensure vendor services meet business requirements.
  • Coordinate training programs, support escalation processes, and guide system adoption and best practices to facilitate the integration of commercial applications into business operations.
  • Lead upgrade coordination, release reviews, and the implementation of new enhancement requests, working closely with IT and business teams to prioritize and implement changes.
  • Conduct data analysis to inform decision-making, identify trends, and support business objectives.
  • Develop and manage annual plans for commercial applications, including budgeting, project management, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO27001 standards, incorporating privacy, security, and data protection best practices into all aspects of commercial application management.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to business processes and IT solutions, promoting innovation and efficiency.
  • Serve as a primary in one of our business areas while cross-trained as a secondary in the other areas.  Business areas include courier, print, or financial business lines.

  • Proven ability to lead and direct activities, capturing and prioritizing business requirements to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Experience conducting complex requirements analysis, business case development, and impact analysis.
  • Skilled in engaging and collaborating with diverse groups, fostering an environment of teamwork and innovation.
  • Proficient in data analysis, with the ability to use common tools to derive insights and actionable steps.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a role interacting significantly with business and technology leaders, defining business operations, workflows, and technology solutions.
  • Experience in vendor management, training, support escalation, and system adoption best practices.
  • Knowledgeable in HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO27001 standards, with experience implementing compliance measures in IT solutions.
  • Domain knowledge in one or more industries, with a preference for Printing or Health/Supply Chain, and a broad understanding of current and emerging technologies.
  • Experience in Agile frameworks, participating in Agile practices, and familiarity with product development, DevOps practices, and microservices.
  • Technical knowledge and experience in delivering IT solutions, with a strong background in partner management and strategy formulation.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
